This week I will be continuing my spring/summer interview series all about home renovations. I am currently working on an exclusive home tour with Better Homes & Gardens magazine for 2022, and I want to share renovation stories from tastemakers like David Quarles IV around his renovation story of his home gym that he designed during the pandemic. David will share with us all of the ups and downs of sourcing products during the new normal, and how he had to think outside of the box to get this project done.
Born and raised in Memphis, TN, David Quarles IV comes from a place where art and culture are celebrated, and being a part of spreading awareness in those areas is his mission. Being of African/Afro-Caribbean, European, and Indigenous-American descent, David likes to allow his appreciation for culture to influence how he views the world. Everyone's perspective and understanding of life should be considered; everyone is beautiful - and so is life.
This week instead of an interior design game, I decided to dissect David’s design of his home gym that he made over the pandemic. You can read the inspiration for this space on his recent home tour with Apartment Therapy here.
If this space is giving you all of the feels like it did for me, check out this week’s shoppable mood board. You can get a similar look and re-create it in your garage or wherever you can find some extra square footage around your home.
