Dabito, Old Brand New

Dabito, Old Brand New

DABITO is the founder and creative director of OLD BRAND NEW, a creative studio specializing in interior design and brand partnerships. In our conversation, Dabito shares how interior design was an outlet to help him deal with his depression growing up as a child.

We have been living in the pandemic for months now, and many of you may be feeling like your home is in need of some radical change. So I decided to reach out DABITO to get some expert advice on how to update our homes and transform them into mini oases.

Dabito is a blogger, photographer, artist, décor guru, tastemaker, passionate vintage hunter, and lover of all things design. As the force behind the creative studio and online design resource, Old Brand New, he has not only won an impressive social media following, but has been recognized by major outlets including Nylon, who named him one of the best Instagrammers, and Better Homes and Gardens, who included him in their Best Decorating Bloggers of 2015.

Best known for his creative use of color, his seamless mix of modern and vintage pieces, and approachable, DIY approach to design, Dabito has had his work featured in the New York Times, Architectural Digest, the Los Angeles Times, Dwell, Elle Décor, and House Beautiful. He also produced the stunning photography in the best-selling The New Bohemians Handbook series.

During our interview I decide to ask Dabito, ”What are 5 things every room should have to get the Dabito stamp of approval?”  I must admit, I added a few more items based on Dabito’s instagram feed that are staples in his interior design work. Check out the shoppable mood board I designed with the Morpholio board app to get inspiration for your next makeover.
